The purpose of this OTAR is to ensure that the organisation which is undertaking the flight checking:
- can meet ICAO Standards
- is suitably managed, staffed and equipped
- has appropriate quality management systems to underpin the integrity of their work.

It is important to note that this Approval is solely for the checking of electronic navigational aids there are separate flight checking requirements for Instrument Approach Procedures and aerodrome lighting.
