The purpose of this Overseas Territory Aviation Requirement (OTAR) is to ensure that the organisation which is undertaking the flight checking:
- can meet International Civil Aviation Organisation Standards
- is suitably managed, staffed and equipped
- has appropriate quality management systems to underpin the integrity of their work.
A list of companies holding an OTAR 173 Approval can be obtained by contacting ASSI. It is important to note that this Approval is solely for the checking of electronic navigational aids. There are separate flight checking requirements for Instrument Approach Procedures and aerodrome lighting.
