The Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2013

The Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2014
This Amendment Order amends the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2013 (SI No 2870) to incorporate provisions concerning aviation security and to amend the qualification criteria for registering an aircraft in the Overseas Territories. Three typographical errors are also being corrected, comprising removal of extraneous characters and correction of a crossreference within two articles. The Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) (No 2) Order 2014
A second Amendment Order has now been enacted to allow OTs to implement the Cape Town Convention which is intended to safeguard ownership rights in moveable assets. The Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2015
The Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2015 (SI 2015 No 1769) came into force on 5 November and is available on the Government legislation website:
The changes give the power to issue Airworthiness Directives and correct the provisions for penalties for breaches of the Order arising from differing court systems in the OTs.
The Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) (No 2) Order 2021
The Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) (No 2) Order 2021 (SI 2021 No 755) comes into force on 22 July 2021 (except for Article 23(13) which comes into force on 30 September 2021). It is available on the Government legislation website:
This Order amends the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2013 (SI 2013/2870) to update regulatory standards and ensure the aviation safety regime in the Overseas Territories complies with the United Kingdom’s obligations under the Chicago Convention of 7 December 1944.
