Currency and competency

5.1 The holder of a FE Authorisation shall not exercise the privileges of that Authorisation unless they satisfy the requirements of OTAR Parts 135.1145 and 121.1145, and the requirements of the State of licence issue, the Certificate of Validation (if issued) and the Flight Examiner Authorisation.

5.2 They must satisfy the following conditions for each operator for whom they are conducting flight examinations:

(a) the FE shall monitor two sectors from an observer’s position within three months prior to being nominated as a FE and monitor two sectors from an observer’s seat every six months thereafter; and

(b) log at least three take offs and landings in the type or class of aircraft the Authorisation is to be issued for in the last three months under a non-commercial flight or as a sole manipulator of the control.
