GENERAL

Overseas Territories Aviation Circulars are issued to provide advice, guidance and information on standards, practices and procedures necessary to support Overseas Territory Aviation Requirements. They are not in themselves law but may amplify a provision of the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order or provide practical guidance on meeting a requirement contained in the Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements.

PURPOSE

This Overseas Territories Aviation Circular provides information and guidance on the serviceability and readouts of Flight Recorder Systems FDR CVR, DLR and AIR, or lightweight ADRS, CARS, AIRS and DLRS) when required for an aircraft registered in a Territory and granted a Certificate of Airworthiness.

This Circular relates to OTAR Part 39 Subpart C.

CHANGE INFORMATION

Second Issue.  Reformatted to take account of latest information in ICAO Annex 6 on flight recording systems.  The OTAC also addresses Airborne Image Recorders (AIRs), Data Link Recorders (DLR’s) and lightweight ADRS, AIRS, CARS, and DLRs which are applicable to light aircraft.
